Home furniture CAD blocks
Home furniture CAD blocks for floor plans and interior elevations: beds, sofas, armchairs and lounge chairs, dining sets, side and designer chairs, dressers and wardrobes, fireplaces, game tables and a home office desk. Plan views give the footprint for space planning, while front and side elevations give the heights you need for sections and millwork drawings. Every piece is drawn 1:1 beside a 6 ft figure, so a twin bed or a three-seater sofa reads at its true size.

About home furniture CAD blocks
The furniture here covers a whole house. In plan, beds run from a twin bed 35⅜″ (900 mm) wide to a full-size bed 54″ (1372 mm) wide, the width of a US full mattress. Three-seater sofas run from 64⅛″ to 94½″ (1628–2400 mm) long, and dining sets go from a square table with four chairs to a dining table with eight chairs 10′-5¾″ (3193 mm) long. Designer seating such as the Barcelona Chair, Egg Chair and Wassily Chair is drawn in front and side elevation on one sheet, and fireplaces range from a Victorian fireplace with hood to a suspended cone fireplace hung from the ceiling. Bedrooms also get a dresser, nightstands and a two-door wardrobe, and recreation rooms a pool table, a ping pong table and a foosball table.
Use the plan blocks to test clearances before you commit to a layout: 24″ (610 mm) beside and at the foot of a bed is the working minimum, walkways through a living room want 30–36″ (762–914 mm), and a dining table needs 36″ (914 mm) from its edge to the wall so chairs can slide back. Because each file is drawn in real units with its base point at 0,0, a block inserted at scale 1 lands at its true size in an inch drawing or a millimeter drawing, ready to rotate into place. The linework sits on layer 0, so the insert follows whatever furniture layer you put it on when you freeze or switch off that layer.
Frequently asked questions
Do the furniture blocks come in inches or millimeters?
Both. Every block downloads as a pair of DWG files, one drawn in inches and one in millimeters, saved for AutoCAD 2000 and later. Insert the file that matches your drawing units at a scale of 1 and it comes in at real size, with no conversion factor to remember and no guessing about INSUNITS.
How big is a queen bed compared with the bed blocks here?
A US queen mattress is 60″ × 80″ (1524 × 2032 mm), a full 54″ × 75″ (1372 × 1905 mm) and a twin 38″ × 75″ (965 × 1905 mm); a king is 76″ × 80″ (1930 × 2032 mm) and a California king 72″ × 84″ (1829 × 2134 mm). Compare the full-size bed or twin bed outline with your mattress; frames add a few inches.
Can I draw a complete living room with these blocks?
Yes. Combine a three-seater sofa, an easy chair or upholstered armchair and the plywood coffee table in plan, keeping the table 14–18″ (356–457 mm) from the seat front and the walkways 30–36″ (762–914 mm) wide. A fireplace elevation and the 6 ft figure then finish the interior elevation for the client meeting.
Why do some chair blocks show two views in one drawing?
The designer pieces, such as the Tulip Chair or the Panton Chair, come as a front and a side elevation placed side by side in one block, so the overall width of the file covers both views. Read the chair's own height from the drawing rather than the block's total width, and copy out one view when needed.
Can I shorten a sofa or resize a table block?
Yes. Open the block in the Block Editor (BEDIT), or explode a copy, then run STRETCH with a crossing window across the middle so the arms or ends stay put. Save the result under your own name to keep the original intact; a long three-seater couch can become a loveseat-size footprint this way.
